Thread for puzzle Negabinary substraction. Hints are OK, but please no full solutions.

A real optimization challenge for me!

If one function had length 10 then this puzzle would be pretty easy for me to solve (since I solved the addition puzzle). Having two with length 9 would be tricky but OK. Having just one with length 9 forced me to completely destroy the nice structure of the solution. I still enjoyed solving it though.
